The Songhees First Nations, as all others Canadian aboriginal communities, have a strong connection with their ancestors; with means their family is a significant component of their culture. Their genealogical orally history has been maintained, from generation to generation, with the women having the custody of this remarkable live data. Because of this, we were entrusted with the responsibility of providing a web application which can capture all this information with the appropriate privacy capabilities the community requires, and the flexibility to be integrated with additional applications. After study different applications, the WebTreesTM web application was selected. The above application is, an open source, implemented under PHP programming language and MySQL database, which easily integrates with the others modules of the Lekwungen Community Portal. The WebTrees functionality is synthesized in three main components: Website Configuration, User Administration and Family Tree Management.
